Fidan’s political march

“He is my black box. He is the black box of the Republic of Turkey and the black box of Turkey’s future. I’m the one who’s sent him to İmralı, and, Oslo. We have to be successful in our fight against terror…. I’m very, very content with his efforts. In the past and right now, he contributed to my country’s benefitting from a lot of things. He was also effective during his Deputy Undersecretary position and when he was in charge of TİKA. He is a well-trained bureaucrat. We are not a human grinding machine. While this man should be appreciated, there had been some groups who wanted to devour him.”

These words belong to Prime Minister Erdoğan.

Erdoğan expressed those words following the February 7th MİT crisis.

On February 7th, when the Oslo meetings had been leaked, as the hungry wolves readied to rip Hakan Fidan to pieces, Erdoğan stood by his side.

“MİT is not your ordinary institution. We also cannot assign an ordinary person there. That is a position that could be reached after very hard work. There should be an absolutely trustworthy person in charge of MİT. Thus, I’ve assigned an extremely trustable person, whom I can even regard him as my black box. I’ve openly and clearly told him, ‘I don’t find your departure quite right’. He, by telling me that he is exhausted and he cannot continue in that position any longer, had unfortunately regarded such a move appropriate for himself and had taken it.”

These words also belong to President Erdoğan.

He spoke these words upon Hakan Fidan’s resignation to become a parliamentarian candidate.

Two separate Erdoğans don’t exist.

There also aren’t two separate Hakan Fidans.

However, there are two separate evaluations.

Hakan Fidan wasn’t your ordinary bureaucrat. He was the MİT Undersecretary. He was the first target of the people, who wanted to overthrow Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Because, Hakan Fidan, was trusted the most by Erdoğan; he was his black box. Thus, before going into surgery, he didn’t sacrifice the MİT Undersecretary to the ones who wanted to conduct political surgery on him.

He knew that, the one they actually wanted to sacrifice was himself.

Hakan Fidan wasn’t only a MİT Undersecretary from the point of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He wasn’t only a black box either. He amounted to the nationalization of MİT, which had been conducting operations in the world of Islam on behalf of the Western intelligence agencies.

He amounted to MİT, which cooperated with the coup-minded military while saying nothing to the Prime Minister during the coup period, belonging to the Prime Minister. Before being assigned as the MİT Undersecretary, Israel attempted a corrosive campaign against him. This was the indicator of MİT and MOSSAD’s close cooperation. MİT, which had been conducting operations in the region for other intelligence agencies until Hakan Fidan had taken the seat, became active in the field after Hakan Fidan’s assignment, however, not on behalf of the Western intelligence agencies, but rather in accordance to the benefits of the Republic of Turkey.

Erdoğan found the MİT Undersecretary he was looking for in someone: Hakan Fidan. A national, operational and trustable person.

Thus, the wiretapping center, which had been taken over from the General Staff and is bound to GES Commandership, had been assigned to MİT, rather than the police intelligence agency.

Hakan Fidan successfully handled every duty he was given.

What does Hakan Fidan’s candidacy come to mean, despite President Erdoğan’s “don’t become a candidate” words?

How should President Erdoğan’s objection to Fidan’s candidacy be evaluated?

I’m fathoming the lobbies. I’m speaking to people who know Erdoğan and Fidan both.

They describe President Erdoğan’s attitude as “resentment”.

Hakan Fidan was carrying out crucial projects.

He was the most important name in the Resolution Process. The process came to a critical point; however, it’s not consummated yet.

Also, we are only at the beginning of the fight against the parallel structure.

On the other hand, there is an MİT, which is trying to become an important actor in the Middle East, after Hakan Fidan arrived.

It’s being said that the President Erdoğan is chagrined with Hakan Fidan, due to his preference on politics, while the vitally important projects had reached the critical phase.

While establishing the 62th Government, Ahmet Davutoğlu wanted to assign Hakan Fidan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With the above excuses, Erdoğan had objected to this.

Even though he is the MİT Undersecretary, he is a man made out of flesh and bones.

Hakan Fidan had grown weary during his 5 stormy years as the MİT Undersecretary. I can’t help but think; would he still have resigned from his position if he wasn’t made a parliamentarian candidate?

After such an important duty, of course, nobody could tell Hakan Fidan to resign and go home.

A  position, which is suitable to his service and accumulation, must be presented to him.

In the name of loyalty and appreciation.

Besides, Hakan Fidan is a well-trained name, who possesses an effective operational party. Thus, I don’t think that the only reason is “exhaustion”. During the period, where Davutoğlu was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, MIT became the most reliable legs of our foreign policy, especially in the Middle East. Prime Minister Davutoğlu wanted to see Hakan Fidan as his politics-friend by his side. Hakan Fidan was planning to take place in Davutoğlu’s cabinet to lend a shoulder to their political fight. I believe that the desire of Davutoğlu and Fidan to do politics had been effective in this decision.

He could choose to be in the political decision authority, ranging from MİT’s structuring to the Resolution Process, in a cabinet, where he can take charge as a Deputy Prime Minister or Minister of Foreign Affairs.

I wish these had been realized without causing a road accident.

Because, a leader like Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is not easy to find. Values like Ahmet Davutoğlu and Hakan Fidan are not that easy to find. It should be seen that the Hakan Fidan incident became corrosive, and he must act silently and impassively.

Let’s not forget; “Reproach grows from love”.
